Институциональные инвесторы
Крупные финансовые учреждения, аккумулирующие свободные денежные средства населения и предприятий и осуществляющие долгосрочные вложения этих средств в акции и облигации компаний, государственные облигации, собственность и ценные бумаги за рубежом. В Великобритании такими коллективными инвесторами являются страховые компании, пенсионные и паевые фонды, инвестиционные трастовые компании. В других странах долгосрочными инвестициями занимаются также коммерческие банки. Деятельность институциональных инвесторов получила широкое распространение в 50-е годы благодаря налоговым льготам, которые предоставлялись государством пенсионным и страховым фондам под их программы, а также возможности объединить риски за счет вложения средств в разные ценные бумаги. Сейчас они занимают заметное место в финансовой системе многих стран и являются основными проводниками средств, поступающих в виде личных сбережений граждан, для финансирования промышленности и бизнеса. В собственности британских институциональных инвесторов находится около 60% акционерного капитала отечественных компаний. Коллективные интересы инвесторов представляет Комитет институциональных инвесторов (Institutional Investors Committee), в рамках которого проводятся дискуссии по проблемам, представляющим интерес для его членов.
